Parish Staff - Joan Skalak
Joan Skalak was certified for the Diocese of Cleveland in 1992. She graduated from Ursuline College, cum laude with a degree in Religion Studies. She has served the parishes of SS. Cosmas and Damian and St. Bartholomew before joining the pastoral staff in 1998 at Holy Family as a Pastoral Minister.
Her ministry involves all aspect of the older adult's life, providing social, educational and spiritual activities. She teaches and coordinates Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers to bring Eucharist to the sick and homebound. Joan participates in the Bereavement Ministry and is a support person for those who are experiencing a loss. Christ's Crafters is a ministry that Joan developed for the parish, where knitters and crocheters come together to share their gifts with others.
Joan has been married for forty years to Don, they raised eight children and are blessed with eighteen grandchildren and one great grandson.
